The following organisations are currently National Music Council members:-
Association of British Orchestras (ABO)
The national body representing the collective interests of professional orchestras throughout the UK.
Association of Professional Recording Services (APRS)
Promotes the highest standards of professionalism and quality within the audio industry. Its members are recording studios, post-production houses, mastering, replication, pressing and duplicating facilities, and providers of education and training, as well as record producers, audio engineers, manufacturers, suppliers and consultants.
British Academy of Songwriters, Composers & Authors (BASCA)
A single voice for all music writers. It exists to support and protect the artistic, professional, commercial and copyright interests of songwriters, lyricists, and composers of all genres of music and to celebrate and encourage excellence in British music writing.
BPI
The body that represents the British recorded music business, including thousands of UK labels, over 400 members large and small, who between them account for in excess of 90% of the UK music market: these include the four major labels (EMI, Sony, Universal and Warner Music), music companies such as manufacturers, online aggregators and distributors, and hundreds of independents. The BPI also organizes the annual BRITs show and proceeds of the show go to The BRIT Trust, the charitable arm of the BPI.
Concert Promoters Association
Works to represent and promote the interests of its members and to provide a forum for discussion of issues and concern.
Entertainment Retailers Association (ERA)
Represents retailers who sell entertainment products such as recorded music, DVD'S and games (multimedia).
Federation of Music Services (FMS)
The national voice of music services representing the interests of 0.5 million music students and 10,000 music teachers in England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and the Channel Isles.
Generator
The rock, pop, dance, indie music development agency for North East England. Also representing the Music Industry Development Association.

Incorporated Society of Musicians (ISM)
The UK's professional body for musicians. The ISM promotes the art of music and the interests of musicians through campaigns, support and practical advice.
International Artist Managers' Association (IAMA)
The leading worldwide association for classical music artist managers.
International Association of Music Libraries UK & Ireland (IAML UK & IRL)
Exists to represent the interests of music libraries and librarians and to promote co-operation between them.
Jazz Services
The leading national jazz organisation in the UK. It provides a voice for jazz, promoting its growth, accessibility and development in the UK through the provision of its services in information, publishing, education, touring, communication and marketing.
Making Music (formerly the National Federation of Music Societies)
An Association representing and supporting amateur and semi-professional musicians of all genres including choirs and orchestras, throughout the UK. Over 2,700 groups.
Music Industries Association (MIA)
The trade association representing and servicing the interest of all United Kingdowm businesses selling musical instruments and associated products. Manufacturers, importers, publishers, retailers and supporting business all come within its scope.
Music Publishers Association (MPA)
The MPA exists to safeguard the interests of music publishers and the writers signed to them. It provides them with a forum and a collective voice, offers them a range of practical services, represents their interests to the wider music industry, the media and the public and works to inform and to educate the wider public in the importance and value of copyright.
Musicians' Union (MU)
Represents over 32,000 musicians working in all sectors of the music business. As well as negotiating on behalf of musicians with all the major employers in the industry. The MU offers a range of services tailored for the self-employed by providing assistance for full time and part time professional and student musicians of all ages.
PRS for Music
The collecting society for UK songwriters. Formed as The MCPS-PRS Alliance in 1997 with the PRS for Music brand adopted in 2009, the organisation brings together two royalty collection societies; MCPS and PRS. It exists to collect and pay royalties to its members when their music is exploited in one of a number of ways - when it is recorded onto any format and distributed to the public, performed or played in public, broadcast or made publicly available online.

International producer of Jazz, World and Contemporary music. Responsible for producing and presenting concerts, tours and special events.
Sound and Music
A new organisation that promotes and explores sound and contemporary music, across genres, in one new programme of activity. It is the coming together of four music and sound based organisations, British Music Information Centre (Bmic), Contemporary Music Network (CMN), Sonic Arts Network (SAN), and Society for the Promotion of New Music (spnm).
Sound Connections
A development organisation working to increase access to quality music for young Londoners.
