NMC Local Authority Music Education Awards 2009
The Music Publishers Association invites music industry colleagues to the first 'MPA Presents', an evening of live music and informal networking, held this Tuesday, 29 July, 7pm at The Social, Little Portland Street, London.
Applications are now invited for this year's National Music Council's Education Awards. The scheme recognises Hubs (in England) and local authorities across the rest of the UK that are able to demonstrate imaginative, inclusive and all round high-quality music provision in a particular year. Each year, Jazz Services also award the Will Michael Jazz Education Awards.

The National Music Council is among the many organisations supporting the ISM's Protect Music Education campaign.
Mark Pemberton, Chair of the NMC says: "The National Music Council, which exists to promote the interest of the music sector as a whole, has for many decades recognised the invaluable contribution made initially by local authority music services, and latterly by music education hubs, through its annual NMC Music Education Awards. The Awards recognise Hubs (in England) and local authorities across the rest of the UK that are able to demonstrate imaginative, inclusive and all round high-quality music provision in a particular year. It is absolutely vital that we do not lose the commitment and expertise of the many music teachers who do such great work with children across England, and we fully support the Protect Music Education campaign."
We encourage members to sign the petition in support of music education.
